This timeless shaped Abstracta shelving system is designed by Poul Cadovius and produced by Royal System, Denmark 1960. This modern system exists of chromed metal tubes with connectors, float glass shelves on nice metal wire holders. The abstracta system was designed for multiple uses, it can be used as a nice display unit, bookcase, room divider and so on. Poul Cadovius was one of the most colourful and successful designers in the history of Danish furniture industry. In 1945 he established his own furniture manufacturing company Royal System. In 1948, he designed this iconic shelving system, the idea was to move the furniture off the floor onto the walls, leaving more space in the room. The iconic shelving system was successfully re-introduced in 2010 and shown at the Milan furniture fair Salone del Mobile in 2013.
